Advanced Writing Workshop
Continuation of ENGX 4007 with emphasis on literary writing. Integrated with college credit ENGL 2308. For online classes, internet access is required. For information call 512-223-3355 during the 1st week of class.
Basic Writing Skills Course
An introductory course that provides basic writing skills (hard copy and e-mail communication), helps with developing simple documents such as memos, letters, simple reports, complaints, and brief summaries. Provides guidance to participants with basic organization and sentence structure when communicating in writing.
Beginning Creative Writing
Depending on course genre(s), students discover poetry, prose, screenwriting, children’s literature, or playwriting. Each course centers on the craft of literary writing through reading and writing assignments. Courses may also cover effective feedback methods and possible publication markets.

Introduction to Hollywood Screenwriting
This is your chance to learn what it takes to get your script noticed in Hollywood. Class covers the basics of premise, plotting, characterization, and dialogue. Propose story ideas and write scenes. You'll need Internet access to receive homework assignments and correspondence from instructor.
Instruction in literary writing: poetry. Possible markets for creative writing will be discussed.
