This class is for actors who are new to commercial and industrial acting. Students will learn how to approach various types of commercial auditions, including MOS (without sound), improv (solo and group), personality-based, and spokesperson auditions. We’ll cover how to slate, camera & teleprompter techniques, clothing and styling tips, and strategies for successful callbacks. We’ll end the class with a brief overview of business logistics, including headshots, casting websites, agencies, and casting directors in the Austin market.

This course prepares students for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) "Six Sigma Green Belt" certification exam. This course is a refresher study of the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. It may also be used to prepare for the IASSC Green Belt certification exam, since ASQ and IASSC use a very similar body of knowledge. Topics include business process management, quality management techniques, project management, DMAIC methodology, statistical applications and methods, design of experiments, lean enterprise principles, and Design for Six Sigma. The student will focus on the methodology and application of these Green Belt skills by studying the assigned materials and taking sample exams containing questions similar to those on the actual CSSGB exam. These sample exams and their answers will be reviewed as part of preparation for the certification exam. Note that this course does not include the ASQ certification exam. A short conversational course for intermediate to advanced student, to assist them in conducting conversations in Spanish, as well as understanding articles written in Spanish. This course includes reviews of some basic grammar in order to expand on more advanced concepts, and it introduces new advanced grammar topics.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course " PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
