Describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in small networks and introduces wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. Provides an in-depth understanding of how routers and switches operate and are implemented in the LAN environment. Students learn key switching and routing concepts. They can perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN. Suggested prerequisite: Introduction to Networks course or equivalent level of knowledge. The instructor will provide information on required books the first day of class.
An introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Concepts, principles, development and application of IPM. Examine insect life cycles, entomology, and ecological interactions of insects and plants. IPM constitutes a series of pest control tactics and strategies toward more sustainable agriculture, natural resources, and urban and rural health and well-being. Combined with credit AGCR-1393.

The course emphasizes language concepts and best instructional practices for facilitating English language proficiency. Instructional techniques for both literacy and oral language development focus on social and academic language skills. In addition, the course prepares the candidates for managing the ESL program, ESL classroom, working with families, and drawing upon community resources.
