Led by Craig Nigh, this workshop is a must for film and television actors, particularly for auditions! Craig offers a step by step process for examining scripts quickly and thoroughly. Having a clear perception of the writer’s intentions will help inform the choices an actor makes and gives ultimate creative freedom inside the context of the story. The class also focuses on connection (with another actor or reader), and basic camera technique. Scenes are filmed for playback and critique. Limited to 12 students.
An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on work experience. This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
Management functions, theories, and decision-making processes including planning, organizing, leading, staffing, and controlling. Understand how individual and organizational behavior impacts the achievement of business goals. Discover a tactical versus strategic approach to address challenges, and learn concrete skills to improve your ability to lead teams and achieve business goals.
Interns are advised, appraised, and mentored throughout the spring semester. Fee covers the costs of mentor and supervisor support for spring clinical teacher. Internship (cont.)-Support, Professional Development/ Conference 25 hrs. Full Spring Semester

Database Programming with SQL and Python

Database development using database programming techniques emphasizing database structures, modeling, and database access. Learn to use Python with SQL quickly and effectively. Analyze data and communicate results to support inform data-driven decisions. Introduction to the analysis and utilization of data requirements and organization into normalized tables, exploration of different data types, expressions, and data manipulation. Course includes hands-on assignments and a final project. Suggested Prerequisites: ITNW 2075 SQL Database Essentials or equivalent knowledge and experience.
