Integrated Pest Management Basics for Sustainable...
This course will discuss local agricultural pests and their impact on crops in Central Texas. Topics will include building and maintaining healthy soil, plant and insect biological cycles , identification and diagnosis of pest problems, and the selection, implementation and theory of integrated pest management.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
A general survey of dance forms designed to create an appreciation of the vocabulary, techniques and purposes of the creative process. This course includes critical interpretation and evaluations of choreographic works and dance forms within cultural and historical contexts. When converted to credit, this course fulfills the Texas Core Curriculum requirement for Creative Arts. Integrated with credit DANC-2303. These classes are designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of web development. The fast pace and challenging mini-project will give you a taste of the full blown 24 week full stack web development bootcamp (full-bootcamp) that is offered through ACC Continuing Education. At the end of the last class, you will get an opportunity to meet the instructors of the bootcamp, and have any questions answered relating to training approaches, nature of projects you will be given, job prospects, career planning approaches etc.
Study of fundamentals of French: conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters understanding of French-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Combined with credit FREN-1411.
The study of physical and financial office practices and marketing. Includes ethical practices for massage therapists as established by law or regulatory agency. Meets the minimum 45-contact-hour requirement for licensure for Massage. Students learn scope of practice, ethical standards, policies and regulations that affect a massage business. Topics include establishing self-care strategies and successful therapeutic relationships; forming professional alliances; attracting particular markets using sales, marketing and retention strategies; and how to apply financial, administrative and insurance processes to the massage profession. Students will create business plan outlines for massage practices. Prerequisite: Completed program application.
