The course is designed to develop skills to get and keep a job. Students develop customer service skills, money management, how to create displays and point of sale. Vocational skills in a variety of job specific activities are addressed as individuals develop specific areas of interest. Students will learn to use community resources to analyze personal career interests, values, skills and aptitudes, surveying and researching jobs with related educational requirements. Students will explore a variety of career options plus use the steps in the decision-making process to develop their own career plan. Students will volunteer in many career or job choices. Introduction to a practical application of basic language usage skills with emphasis on fundamentals of writing and editing for business. Access to business communications web site and on-line study guide helps students develop their English skills with additional emphasis on spelling and vocabulary.

General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of: plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and various factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
In-depth coverage of the structure and function of the human body. Includes cell structure and function, tissues, body organization, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and endocrine systems. Emphasizes homeostasis/wellness care. Meets the minimum 75-contact-hour requirement for Anatomy and Physiology for licensure.
Fundamentals of mass production of apparel, focusing on the operation of industrial sewing and pressing equipment. Survey of materials selection and construction techniques used at all price levels of mass produced apparel. Introduction to industry seam allowances.
