This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in TPN sterile compounding procedures. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: TPN calculations, TPN base solution and additive preparation, use/cleaning/calibration of an automated TPN compounder, etc. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate, to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. An introduction to the family as a dynamic system focusing on the effects of addiction pertaining to family roles, rules, and behavior patterns. Discuss the impact of mood altering substances and behaviors and therapeutic alternatives as they relate to the family from a multicultural and transgenerational perspective. Software Development Bootcamp - Trial Classes

These classes are designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of web development. The fast pace and challenging mini-project will give you a taste of the full blown 24 week full stack web development bootcamp (full-bootcamp) that is offered through ACC Continuing Education. At the end of the last class, you will get an opportunity to meet the instructors of the bootcamp, and have any questions answered relating to training approaches, nature of projects you will be given, job prospects, career planning approaches etc.
In this course, students will learn to use standard English grammar in writing developed academic compositions. Students work on developing more sophisticated sentences and using them in their writing. Students are exposed to the modes of comparison/contrast, argument/persuasion, academic research and documentation, and cause/effect. This course is designed to further prepare ESOL student to handle the writing tasks they will encounter in college-credit level courses and the workplace. Integrated with credit ESOL-0374. To register for Writing 4 (COMX 4074) you must have (1) a passing grade of C or higher in Writing 3 (COMX 4073) or placement into Writing 4 (COMX 4074) on the ESOL assessment test and (2) a passing grade of C or higher in Grammar 3 (COMX 4097) or placement into Grammar 4 (COMX 4098) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
This introductory level short course in project management introduces students with little-to-no formal project management training to the professional project management framework applied to run projects in their work environment. The emphasis is on introducing the framework and terminology, teamwork and organization concepts, and basic tools and techniques for starting and running simple projects through in-class examples using a custom workbook (included with the course fee - no other textbooks required). Little to no prior experience with managing projects is expected, so it is an excellent introduction to the subject for new team leaders and participants who need to get started quickly and expect to pursue professional certification later. Students will leave the course with an understanding of professional level project managemenat, and a model project, which can serve as a template for initiating and planning real-world projects in their environments. This course can be taught in 4 separate evening meetings (in one week), or in a 2-day morning/afternoon format, both onsite and online. It is not a prerequisite for, but can serve as an introductory step to ACC’s professional certification program consisting of the deeper and wider team-based experiential 48-hour BMGT 1009 Applied Project Management foundations course, followed by the BMGT 1040 PMP/CAPM Exam Prep course to prepare students for PMI, CompTIA, and other professional certification exams.
Focuses on aspects of substance abuse prevention from a public health model. Topics include the history of prevention, risk and protective factors among youth, community-based prevention strategies, program design and evaluation, and resources for prevention planning. Integrated with credit DAAC-2306. Qualifies for student health insurance.
