Prepares students for the Network+ Certification examination. A beginning course in computer networks with focus in networking fundamentals, terminology, hardware, software, and network architecture. A study of local/wide area networking concepts and networking installations and operations. Suggested prerequisite: CPMT 1072 A+ Essentials and CPMT 2045 A+ Practical Applications or A+ certification or equivalent knowledge. Required textbook: CompTIA Network Guide to Managing and Troubleshooting Networks Sixth Edition (Exam N10-008) 6th Edition, Michael Meyers, ISBN-13: 978-1264269037.
In this course, students will learn to use standard English grammar in writing paragraphs and compositions. Students work on developing effective simple, compound and complex sentences and using them in their writing. Students are exposed to the modes of argument, process, comparison contrast and classification. This is the first course in a series designed to prepare ESOL student to handle the writing tasks they will encounter in college-credit level courses and the workplace. Students will also complete lab projects enforcing these concepts. Integrated with credit ESOL-0372.To register for Writing 2 (COMX 4072) you must (1) have a passing grade of C or higher in Writing 1 (COMX 4071) or placement into Writing 2 (COMX 4072) on the ESOL assessment test and (2) be co-enrolled in Grammar 2 (COMX 4096) this semester or have a passing grade of C or higher in Grammar 2 (COMX 4096) or placement into Grammar 3 (COMX 4097) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
Pre-requisites: All program classes completed with a passing grade of “C” or above, immunizations, CPR, First Aid uploaded, background and drug screen obtained through Castlebranch. One hundred, sixty hours in a physician's office or clinic, integrating knowledge and skills into a workplace environment. Coordinator overview/preceptor supervision.
Designed for ESOL students at the high beginning level, this course emphasizes speaking and listening to everyday American English. There is a strong focus on understanding conversation and using correct pronunciation, including vowel and consonant sounds as well as stress and intonation. Repeatable for up to six hours of credit. Integrated with credit ESOL-0301.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course " PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. This course will focus on the Science of Teaching Reading including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, comprehension, and fluency. Candidates will develop instruction and assessment skills and learn differentiation and support strategies for striving readers. The course is required for candidates who must pass the TEA Science of Teaching Reading assessment for licensure.
