This course is designed to introduce students to the different forms of writing styles within business and the importance of planning, writing, revising, and editing business messages. Students seeking this course should be able to demonstrate fundamental computer skills and working knowledge of all Microsoft 2013 applications, and demonstrate knowledge of basic parts of speech and punctuation. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Business Communications for Non-Native Speakers is a communications course for non-native speakers of English. The course occurs in a simulated office setting in which students become fellow employees of a small business specializing in consulting. Using a "hands-on" approach, students work through various business procedures, such as conducting meetings and taking minutes, creating press releases, writing white papers, and showcasing new products. This course presents business grammar and vocabulary to non-native speakers and requires students to apply this knowledge to reading, writing, and speaking the language of business English. Combined with credit ESOL-0392.
This class is a continuation of Guitar I. Topics will include: minor chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
This course is designed specifically for adults 18+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students develop entry-level and intermediate skills for the workforce. Includes professionalism, interpersonal skills, communication, workplace civility, and employability skills. Application, assessment and interview required prior to admittance. This course will provide an overview of irrigation systems appropriate for landscape and small farm usage. Topics include determining plant and landscape needs, selecting equipment and layout design, sizing components, water conservation, installation, and troubleshooting. Hands-on activities will take place when possible.
Python Data Analysis

This course is meant for everyone who wants to use Python for analyzing data and/or data science, whether they are veteran Python users, experienced programmers, statisticians, or looking to take basic python skills to the next level. The course will cover topics covering the whole analysis pipeline, including reading data, visualization, data manipulation, modeling, and machine learning. Suggested prerequisite is basic Python knowledge or ITSE 2079 Introduction to Python.
Understanding and working with your soil is essential to farming and ranching. Introduction to Soil is a study of the physical properties of soil including structure and texture. Topics include the origin and development of soils, the composition of soil horizon, and the interrelationship between soil fertility and plants. Emphasis will be placed on different methods for soil conservation and soil building practices in sustainable agriculture.
