A study of guided and sequential experiences for developing aerobic based group exercise leadership skills. Opportunities provided for students to practice these skills under a professional mentor in a group setting. Integrated with college credit FITT 2331. The following course is integrated with the Exercise Science program. This course is designed to offer instruction for individuals interested in entering the workforce as a fitness professional and can be used in pursuit of the Fitness Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer certificates or assist in preparing for national certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer. This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
Sewing fundamental emphasizes the development of basic sewing skills used to create apparel. This course focuses on patterns, fabric selection, basic construction techniques, pressing skills, and timesaving technologies and techniques. Learn how to use your sewing machine. Small projects will be discussed in class. Students must bring sewing machine, tape measure, scissors, and pins.
General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of: plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and various factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.

This course will discuss local agricultural pests and their impact on crops in Central Texas. Topics will include building and maintaining healthy soil, plant and insect biological cycles , identification and diagnosis of pest problems, and the selection, implementation and theory of integrated pest management.
