Instruction in the utilization of presentation software to produce multimedia presentations. Graphics, text, sound, animation and/or video may be used in presentation development. This course covers the required skill sets on the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) specialist level exam.

Grammar 1 emphasizes understanding and correct usage of the first five verb tenses, simple questions and information questions, modal verbs, parts of speech and articles. Integrated with credit ESOL-0395. To register for Business Communication (COMX 4092) you must have (1) a passing grade of C or higher in Writing 2 (COMX 4072) or placement into Writing 3 (COMX 4073) on the ESOL assessment test, (2) a passing grade of C or higher in Reading and Vocabulary 2 (COMX 4012) or placement into Reading and Vocabulary 3 (COMX 4013) or higher on the ESOL assessment test, and (3) a passing grade of C or higher in Oral Communication 2 (COMX 4002) or placement into Oral Communication 3 (COMX 4003) on the ESOL assessment test.
This is a 16 hour course consisting of an online introduction, classroom lecture, and range training. Skills covered will include: firearm and range safety protocols, pistol nomenclature, loading and unloading, grip, stance, trigger manipulation, and firearms storage and cleaning. By completion of the course students will have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship and be able to safely and proficiently handle a pistol with confidence. No prerequisite required. Pistol and ammunition are provided. This class consists of 4 hours online training , 4 hours classroom and 8 hours of range.
SQL Database Essentials

Learn to use SQL quickly and effectively. You will learn to read and write complex queries to a database using some of the most in-demand skills PostgreSQL and PgAdmin. These skills are also applicable to any other major SQL database, such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, and many more. Suggested prerequisites: middle school math. Required software: MySQL; link to free download will be provided by the instructor.
Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
This class is recommended for educational aides/paraprofessionals to become familiar working with special education students. This course covers Special Education topics such as IDEA, FAPE, IEP, physically impaired students, crisis intervention and LRE. Assessments are performance-based and take place throughout the course. Sack lunch requested.
Understanding and working with your soil is essential to farming and ranching. Introduction to Soil is a study of the physical properties of soil including structure and texture. Topics include the origin and development of soils, the composition of soil horizon, and the interrelationship between soil fertility and plants. Emphasis will be placed on different methods for soil conservation and soil building practices in sustainable agriculture.
