Blockchain Fundamentals

This course provides a foundation in a practical knowledge of blockchain. Beginning with an understanding of blockchain technology and its intended purpose, the course progresses into blockchain architecture. You will review the enterprise implementation and practical use of blockchain, such as in banking, healthcare and government applications. Throughout the course, you will also learn how blockchain evolved from its beginnings with cryptocurrencies and the role it plays in the trading, distribution, and other transactions that occur with cryptocurrency.
A study of the components of weight control, smoking cessation, stress management, and other current trends. Topics include techniques in behavior modification, motivation, teaching, and counseling. Integrated with college credit FITT 2301. The following course is integrated with the Exercise Science program. This course is designed to offer instruction for individuals interested in entering the workforce as a fitness professional and can be used in pursuit of the Fitness Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer certificates or assist in preparing for national certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer. International purchasing or sourcing. Includes the advantages and the barriers of purchasing internationally, global sourcing, procurement technology, and purchasing processes. Emphasizes issues of contract administration, location, and evaluation of foreign suppliers, total cost approach, exchange fluctuations, customs procedures, and related topics. Integrated with credit IBUS-1341.
Study of current office procedures including telephone skills, time management, travel and meeting arrangements, mail processing, and other duties and responsibilities in an office environment. Required textbook (e-book) is available through Blackboard at acconline.austincc.edu.
Suggested prerequisites: POFT 1070 Administrative Assistant.
This class is an introduction to guitar fundamentals. Topics will include: major chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
