This class will enhance your best physical attributes, improve your physical awareness, and unleash your physical potential. You will experience and practice an array of mobility concepts while acquiring tools and information about effective performance physicality. You will also explore your own body’s mobility and expressive abilities. This is a physically active, experiential class to introduce you to Movement Analysis, and Body Language techniques. All actors will benefit from this class. A must for actor training. Bring a short monologue to work with, (1 minute to 90 seconds long) and a yoga mat for comfort.
This course provides job search preparation and strategies for students seeking employment in IT-related fields and industries. This free learning experience teaches specialized strategies to prepare job seekers for internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level or advanced technical positions. Students gain access to one-on-one job search support and will utilize leading-edge technologies including YouScience, Handshake, JobScan, BigInterview, and ChatGPT to create, optimize, and prepare materials for a successful job search.
The use of accepted hydrotherapy and holistic modalities of external application of temperature for its reflexive effect. Meets the minimum 20-contact-hour requirement for licensure for Massage. Students receive hands-on training in skills and knowledge needed to perform techniques and SPA skills with the use of varying thermal applications. Students are introduced to aromatherapy, reflexology, paraffin, body wrap treatments and hydro/cryotherapy. Each student performs hands-on applications and select spa techniques in lab. Online HIPAA training and completed program application are required.
Legal aspect of small business start-ups. A study of choosing the right attorney, organizing the business structure, and creating the right entity to match the intended business goal, naming the business, contracting (includes commercial transactions, sale/purchase/employment agreements, and leases), learning about employees versus independent contractors, obtaining permits, and paying taxes. Includes implications of the Texas Deceptive Practices Act to small business as well as ADA and federal employment laws.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in TPN sterile compounding procedures. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: TPN calculations, TPN base solution and additive preparation, use/cleaning/calibration of an automated TPN compounder, etc. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate, to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. In this course, students will review basic verb tenses, proceed to intermediate structures, emphasizing communicative use in academic and non-academic contests. Integrated with credit ESOL-0396.
Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
