A study of anatomy and physiology with emphasis on human pathophysiology, including: etiology, prognosis, medical treatment, signs and symptoms of common diseases of all body systems.
Examination of the various stages of the group work treatment process with emphasis on roles, tasks, and potential problem areas. Topics include mechanics of group function, structure of groups, communication patterns within groups, effective group facilitation skills, and techniques used to address special population issues and needs. Adobe InDesign is the industry-standard page layout program. In this class you'll use InDesign to produce a variety of single-page and multi-page documents. You'll learn to set and format type, work with paragraph styles, import images from Illustrator and Photoshop, define and apply color, apply graphic effects, create PDFs, and package files for printing. Suggested prerequisites: Fundamentals of PC Use or equivalent experience.
This course provides novice business analysts or those wanting to enter the profession with an understanding of the foundation concepts and key techniques of business analysis. To ensure that everyone has a common understanding of how projects are performed, there is also a focus on key concepts of projects and project management. Then, through class discussions and homework, participants learn how an organization identifies the needs for changes and selects solution approaches. With exercises and discussion, they learn how requirements are elicited and analyzed, practicing some of the most common techniques that are used by business analysts. They get experience with interviews, workshops, process modeling, writing use cases and user stories, building functional requirements, and performing structured walkthroughs. Participants read and discuss the IIBA BABOK Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge as the backbone of the course. This class is a continuation of Guitar I. Topics will include: minor chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
Designed for advanced ESOL students, this course emphasizes speaking and listening to formal American English used in college and work settings. There will be continued practice on academic listening and note-taking skills as well as exposure to real-life formal talks and college lectures. Class activities include leading and participating in group discussions, listening to lectures and taking notes, giving presentations and speeches and participating in debates. This course may be repeated for up to 6 hours of credit. Integrated with credit ESOL-0304.
Private coaching sessions with Adam Roberts are offered in musical theatre and contemporary vocal styles such as pop, folk, rock, etc. Coaching packages are tailored to each student’s unique goals and may include work toward preparing upcoming auditions, building a rep book, bolstering technique, expanding range, and strengthening a variety of performance skills. Coaching is available for adults from beginner through professional levels, and to advanced high school students.
