A study of three-dimensional fashion design conceptualizing by draping in muslin or fashion fabric directly on the dress form. Skill development in observing grain of fabric, identifying drapable fabrics and creating designs suitable for draping. Presentation of major fashion designers and draping techniques. Survey of the evolution of fashion change, traced through garment development from ancient times to present day. A study of customs and silhouettes of each historical period and their modern day adaptations. Combined with credit FSHD-1311.
Concepts and skills of leadership in the work setting. Introduces leadership and motivational theories and leadership styles. Includes evaluation of leadership performance. Explore how leaders use power and influence to achieve organizational commitment and effectiveness. Discuss topics of organizational culture, business ethics, and effective goal setting and planning. Identify case studies about the global economy and current events for developing personal leadership skills.
A study of analyzing, classifying, and recording business transactions in a manual and computerized environment. Emphasis on understanding the complete accounting cycle and preparing financial statements, and analyzing the information reflected. Aikido is a no punch, no kick art of self-defense. Using Aikido's throwing and pinning arts properly, an attack can be neutralized without inflicting serious injury. At its higher levels, it is an effective discipline for the development, integration and utilization of all human powers-physical, mental and spiritual. This course will provide an overview of irrigation systems appropriate for landscape and small farm usage. Topics include determining plant and landscape needs, selecting equipment and layout design, sizing components, water conservation, installation, and troubleshooting. Hands-on activities will take place when possible.
This course combines a two-day, live workshop, along with online activities designed to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in basic,
non-sterile, extemporaneous compounding procedures. Hands-on training includes: capsule preparation, ointments, creams, trochees,
suppositories, use of mortar and pestle, digital scale, graduated cylinders, hotplate, ointment mill, and other compounding equipment. The total
estimated time required to complete this course is 48 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from
2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE
statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 4.8 CEUs (48.0 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based activity. This is a non-sterile
compounding certification course. Prerequisites: Must be a certified (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician; or registered Pharmacist/ registered pharmacy
technician; or have completed an ASHP/ACPE Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program; or have a minimum of six month of
pharmacy experience. This course may be converted to college credit. Integrated with credit PHRA-2271.
