Fundamentals of mass production of apparel, focusing on the operation of industrial sewing and pressing equipment. Survey of materials selection and construction techniques used at all price levels of mass produced apparel. Introduction to industry seam allowances. In this workshop-style class for experienced musical theatre performers, participants receive individualized song coaching in a masterclass setting. Each performer comes to the intensive prepared with three contrasting audition cuts to perform and gains feedback from both peers and the instructor. Each participant will also receive two recommendations for additional material to add to their audition repertoire.
Practicum (or Field Experience) - Phlebotomy/Phlebotomist
Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student. Combined with college credit PLAB-1166.
This course will provide an overview of irrigation systems appropriate for landscape and small farm usage. Topics include determining plant and landscape needs, selecting equipment and layout design, sizing components, water conservation, installation, and troubleshooting. Hands-on activities will take place when possible.

Instruction in moving and copying, cell contents; sorting mathematical, statistical, and financial functions; date and time arithmetic; report generation; and built-in graphics support. Includes macros, database functions, and linking spreadsheets. Suggested prerequisites: Excel Introduction or equivalent experience.
In this course, students will learn to use standard English grammar in writing paragraphs and compositions. Students work on developing effective simple and compound sentences and using them in their writing. Students are exposed to the modes of argument, process, comparison contrast and classification. This is the first course in a series designed to prepare ESOL student to handle the writing tasks they will encounter in college-credit level courses and the workplace. Integrated with credit ESOL-0371. To register for Writing 1 (COMX 4071) you must also be co-enrolled in Grammar 1 (COMX 4095) this semester or have a passing grade of C or higher in Grammar 1 (COMX 4095) or placement into Grammar 2 (COMX 4097) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
A systems approach to managing activities associated with traffic, transportation, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling. This is course one of a foundation two-level track that will help our participants understand and master the core competencies of material handling and its relevance in the entire supply chain/logistics function.
