In this course, students will learn to use standard English grammar in writing developed academic compositions. Students work on developing effective sentences and using them in their writing. Students are exposed to the modes of classification, cause/effect, process analysis, and argument. This course is designed to further prepare ESOL student to handle the writing tasks they will encounter in college-credit level courses and the workplace. Integrated with credit ESOL-0373. To register for Writing 3 (COMX 4073) you must have (1) a passing grade of C or higher in Writing 2 (COMX 4072) or placement into Writing 3 (COMX 4073) on the ESOL assessment test and (2) a passing grade of C or higher in Grammar 2 (COMX 4096) or placement into Grammar 3 (COMX 4097) or higher on the ESOL assessment test.
Application of basic coding rules, principles, guidelines, and conventions. Health Information Coding Specialists apply ICD-9-CM, ICD10-CM and CPT-4 codes used in the reporting and billing of medical services and procedures. Most specialists will be employed in hospitals, but job growth will be faster in offices and clinics of physicians, nursing homes and home health agencies. Prerequisite: HITT 1013.
Integrated Pest Management Basics for Sustainable...
This course will discuss local agricultural pests and their impact on crops in Central Texas. Topics will include building and maintaining healthy soil, plant and insect biological cycles , identification and diagnosis of pest problems, and the selection, implementation and theory of integrated pest management.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
Safety principles and skills which will enable students to avoid and/or minimize violence will be taught. In this workshop-style class for experienced musical theatre performers, participants receive individualized song coaching in a masterclass setting. Each performer comes to the intensive prepared with three contrasting audition cuts to perform and gains feedback from both peers and the instructor. Each participant will also receive two recommendations for additional material to add to their audition repertoire.
Fundamentals of quick sketching to communicate design ideas. Instruction in drawing the male and female fashion figure. This is a 16 hour course consisting of an online introduction, classroom lecture, and range training. Skills covered will include: firearm and range safety protocols, pistol nomenclature, loading and unloading, grip, stance, trigger manipulation, and firearms storage and cleaning. By completion of the course students will have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship and be able to safely and proficiently handle a pistol with confidence. No prerequisite required. Pistol and ammunition are provided. This class consists of 4 hours online training , 4 hours classroom and 8 hours of range.
