This course covers networking architecture, structure, security, and functions; introduces the principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations to provide a foundation for the curriculum. A continuation of Ready-To-Wear Construction with emphasis on design details. Instruction in basic manipulation of a commercial pattern to create individual design details, dressmaking and fully lined unstructured garments in intermediate level fabrics. Combined with credit FSHD-1351.
Communication skills as applicable to individuals or groups in the workplace. Includes skills in listening, writing, and verbal/non-verbal communication. Gain the skills needed to communicate effectively in a complex business environment. Learn how to be flexible so you can communicate both upstream and downstream, as well as with vendors, clients, stakeholders, and other partner organizations from a variety of business cultures. Apply new skills right away in your current or future position.
This is an intermediate class focusing on acting for the camera. It is required that you have had at least a basic acting class before joining - such as Acting Fundamentals or equivalent. The emphasis is on camera technique as well as developing a naturalistic acting style through connection, honesty, vulnerability, and following intuitive impulses. The students’ work will be explored through exercises and scene study from film and television scripts. Some videotaping and playback will be used for critique.
International purchasing or sourcing. Includes the advantages and the barriers of purchasing internationally, global sourcing, procurement technology, and purchasing processes. Emphasizes issues of contract administration, location, and evaluation of foreign suppliers, total cost approach, exchange fluctuations, customs procedures, and related topics.
