We will cover basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. And, we will familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of making photographs: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes and subject. We will learn how to make a simple and dynamic photographs. There will be several in class projects and critique to learn from each other. A point-and shoot camera will work, a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results.
Designed to enhance student understanding of the marketing, environment and the dynamic interrelationships of the functions of marketing price, channels of distribution, promotion, and product responsibility. Provides a simulated marketing environment for experience in marketing decision-making and provides practical experiences in analyzing market cases for the students.
This course is a comprehensive introduction to Adobe Photoshop with practical applications of digital imaging and preparing photographic artwork for print and digital media. Throughout the course, students will establish proficiency with the Adobe Photoshop interface and tools, and will gain an understanding of file formats, color management, image resolution, and pixel depth for differing output needs. Digital Imaging I is combined with PHTC 1300, and is a pathway into the Department of Professional Photography workforce program.
A physical conditioning course that emphasizes cardiovascular fitness through your choice of walking, jogging, or a combination of both. Students will not be required to run. Correct techniques in striding and form will be introduced in addition to discussion of the benefits of aerobic exercise, nutrition, weight management, and associated topics. Cross-cultural comparisons of management and communications processes. Emphasizes cultural geographic distinctions and antecedents that affect individual, group, and organizational behavior. May include sociocultural demographics, economics, technology, political-legal issues, negotiations, and processes of decision making in the international cultural environment. Integrated with college credit IBUS 2341.
Application of basic coding rules, principles, guidelines, and conventions. Health Information Coding Specialists apply ICD-9-CM, ICD10-CM and CPT-4 codes used in the reporting and billing of medical services and procedures. Most specialists will be employed in hospitals, but job growth will be faster in offices and clinics of physicians, nursing homes and home health agencies. Prerequisite: HITT 1013.
This ensemble introduces students to the techniques and rhythms of Afro-Cuban folkloric and popular music. This music, born of African slaves transplanted to Cuba in the 17th and 18th centuries, is rich in West African history and culture. The rumba family of folkloric styles includes yambu, rumba Columbia, and guaguanco and can be traced directly to the Yoruba people in Nigeria. These traditional styles, in addition to the popular cha-cha-cha, mambo, and the mozambique are performed by the ensemble.
