An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on work experience. This course combines a two-day, live workshop, along with online activities designed to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in basic,
non-sterile, extemporaneous compounding procedures. Hands-on training includes: capsule preparation, ointments, creams, trochees,
suppositories, use of mortar and pestle, digital scale, graduated cylinders, hotplate, ointment mill, and other compounding equipment. The total
estimated time required to complete this course is 48 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from
2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE
statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 4.8 CEUs (48.0 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based activity. This is a non-sterile
compounding certification course. Prerequisites: Must be a certified (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician; or registered Pharmacist/ registered pharmacy
technician; or have completed an ASHP/ACPE Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program; or have a minimum of six month of
pharmacy experience. This course may be converted to college credit. Integrated with credit PHRA-2271.
This course provides an introduction to vocal technique for the beginning to advanced-beginning singer. Students will have the opportunity to sing both individually and as part of a group. This class is ideal for anyone who desires to gain a foundational knowledge of singing, including stage and film actors. Students are encouraged to focus on the musical styles that most interest them, with support from the instructor in identifying specific song choices. By the end of the course, participants will have become better acquainted with the unique qualities of their individual voices. No prior singing experience necessary.
Introduction to yoga including traditional yoga postures emphasizing flexibility, breathing and relaxation techniques as well as careful attention to alignment in classical yoga poses. An introduction to the creative design of clothing through the flat pattern method. General principles of pattern making using the basic five-piece dress sloper.
