Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
Advanced skills course teaching students to complete HCFA 1500, UB 92, Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, CHAMPVA, and Worker Compensation insurance forms. Includes Introduction to Code Diagnoses using ICD 9 and ICD 10 text. Prerequisite: HITT 1041.
Special skills and techniques in the application of counseling skills for the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) client. Development and utilization of advanced treatment planning and management. Includes review of confidentiality and ethical issues. Integrated with college credit DAAC 2341.
Students are taught in a layered curriculum to enhance reading, writing and mathematics. Instruction is planned to build vocational and independent living skills in reading, writing and mathematics. Lesson plans are personalized to each student’s skills and goals. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This course provides job search preparation and strategies for students seeking employment in IT-related fields and industries. This free learning experience teaches specialized strategies to prepare job seekers for internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level or advanced technical positions. Students gain access to one-on-one job search support and will utilize leading-edge technologies including YouScience, Handshake, JobScan, BigInterview, and ChatGPT to create, optimize, and prepare materials for a successful job search.
Learn how to promote organizations, products, and services using social media tools such as blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Adhering to the rules of online etiquette, learn how to build a community and curate its contributed information so information reliably provides online support for products or services. Put what you learn into practice by using these tools to accomplish one or both of these goals, ideally for a nonprofit. Integrated with credit ETWR-1471.
Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various special occasions, including birthdays, Homecoming, new baby, and more. Designs learned can be modified for everyday occasions. Students will also have the opportunity to learn other design styles including Contemporary, Ikebana, European and Tropical. Floral Design Principles is recommended but not required as a prerequisite.
