Introduction to Python

People gravitate to technology to solve problems. Python is a programming language that lets you work quickly to solve these problems. If you are interested in learning Python, this is the class for you. We will emphasize learning the basics of programming using Python, so you can leverage the reference book to solve real-world issues on your own upon course completion. Suggested prerequisite: General computing knowledge and a desire to learn programming with Python.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course " PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. Prepares students for the Network+ Certification examination. A beginning course in computer networks with focus in networking fundamentals, terminology, hardware, software, and network architecture. A study of local/wide area networking concepts and networking installations and operations. Suggested prerequisite: CPMT 1072 A+ Essentials and CPMT 2045 A+ Practical Applications or A+ certification or equivalent knowledge. Advanced skills course teaching students to complete HCFA 1500, UB 92, Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, CHAMPVA, and Worker Compensation insurance forms. Includes Introduction to Code Diagnoses using ICD 9 and ICD 10 text. Prerequisite: HITT 1041.
Designed for high-intermediate level ESOL students, this course emphasizes speaking and listening to formal American English used in college and work settings. There will be practice on academic listening and note-taking skills as well as exposure to real-life formal talks and college lectures. Class activities include group discussions on academic and professional subject matter, listening to lectures and taking notes on academic topics and giving informative presentations demonstrating appropriate elements of presentation delivery, such as eye contact, body language, voice control, and visual aid. There is continued focus on correct pronunciation. This course may be repeated for up to 6 hours of credit. Integrated with credit ESOL-0303.
