We will cover basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. And, we will familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of making photographs: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes and subject. We will learn how to make a simple and dynamic photographs. There will be several in class projects and critique to learn from each other. A point-and shoot camera will work, a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results.

This course introduces the student to the scope and application of data analysis. It covers data manipulation, data visualization, predictive analytics, and decision analytics tools. Learn how to review data and present it in an understandable format to facilitate making business decisions. Suggested prerequisites: Analytics with Excel or equivalent knowledge. This class is a continuation of Guitar I. Topics will include: minor chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
Development of personal, social, and work adjustment skills. Exploration will include open communication, assertiveness, self-disclosure, and building relationships with group members in a way that enhances trust and mutual concern. Knowledge gained in class is designed to transfer to actual working situations. Integrated with credit PSYT-1313. Qualifies for student health insurance.
This is a course to not only improve reading proficiency but also increase the appreciation of reading. It teaches language through reading and vocabulary. It is for students who need either to improve or review basic reading and vocabulary skills in English. Word attack skills, phonics, and syllabication are some of the skills that are introduced during the course. In addition, students will distinguish between topics, main ideas, supporting details and develop critical thinking skills in analyses of academic and literary works. Integrated with credit ESOL-0314.
This course focuses on pattern, fabric selection, garment industry technique, pressing skills, time saving technologies and techniques. Projects will be discussed in class. Students must bring sewing machine, tape measure, scissor and pins.
Domestic and International Transportation Management
An overview of the principles and practices of transportation and its role in the distribution process. Emphasis on the physical transportation systems involved in the United States as well as on global distribution systems. Topics include carrier responsibilities and services, freight classifications, rates, tariffs, and public policy and regulations. Also includes logistical geography and the development of skills to solve logistical transportation problems and issues. Integrated with credit LMGT-1323.
