Major concepts, theories, and their applications to prepare for the SHRM-CP/SCP Certification Exam. Suggested prerequisites: four years in a exempt level HR position: (HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Manager, HR Director); or six years in an exempt level Specialist position: (Training & Development Specialist, Benefits Specialist, Recruiting Specialist, Employee Relations Specialist); or seven years in a non-exempt HR position (HR Assistant, HR Coordinator).
Workshop-style course in which students study the concept of hypertext, learn structuring principles and navigation tools common in online information, create web pages using XHTML and CSS, get an introduction to web page development tools such as Dreamweaver; and overview documentation trends such as structured authoring, single-sourcing, and XML. An introduction to the study of the Spanish language with instruction structured to promote the development of speaking and listening skills for direct application within business and personal settings. Offered within a relaxed and enjoyable environment, and conducted in English and Spanish, the instruction focuses on the development of vocabulary, pronunciation skills, basic sentence patterns, and overview of Latin Culture.

Learn the techniques for entering the international marketplace. Emphasis on the impact and dynamics of sociocultural, demographic, economic,
technological, and political-legal factors in the foreign trade environment. Topics include patterns of world trade, internationalization of the firm, and operating procedures of the multinational enterprise. Required textbook is available at RGC bookstore (512) 474-2607. Led by Rick Roemer, this 8-week course is designed for those who have taken Acting Fundamentals and Acting Explorations or equivalent training. Using scenes or monologues, the focus will be on strengthening text analysis and following inner impulses to create a powerful need to speak. The work in class will enliven the imagination and increase emotional availability and vulnerability of the actor. This class can be taken more than once, as it is different each time with new students and new scenes to explore. After expanding abilities in a playful environment, this class culminates in an event where scenes are performed for a small audience.
