This class is an introduction to guitar fundamentals. Topics will include: major chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
Introduction to nutrients and the role of good food in growth and development, as well as, in the maintenance of health. Students will begin to learn the difference between food that makes you feel better and food that can make you feel worse, how to choose better options, and what to look for when looking at food labels.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in TPN sterile compounding procedures. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: TPN calculations, TPN base solution and additive preparation, use/cleaning/calibration of an automated TPN compounder, etc. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. Database development using database programming techniques emphasizing database structures, modeling, and database access. Learn to use Python with SQL quickly and effectively. Analyze data and communicate results to support inform data-driven decisions. Introduction to the analysis and utilization of data requirements and organization into normalized tables, exploration of different data types, expressions, and data manipulation. Course includes hands-on assignments and a final project. Suggested Prerequisites: ITNW 2075 SQL Database Essentials or equivalent knowledge and experience.
This course is designed to introduce students to the process of communication and how it is used to effectively send messages in the workplace. Students will increase comprehension of written and verbal information. Students selecting this course should be able to demonstrate the fundamental computer skills and working knowledge of all Microsoft 2013 applications, have the verbal and social skills to present a short speech and demonstrate knowledge of basic parts of speech and punctuation. This course is geared towards supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program, developed by Google, prepares students for an entry-level role in IT support such as in-person or remote help desk work in a small business or at a global company like Google. Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets, the program will introduce you to troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration and security. You will be responsible for working through the online course materials at your own pace. This curriculum maps to CompTIA’s A+ certification exams.
A systems approach to managing activities associated with traffic, transportation, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling. This is course one of a foundation two-level track that will help our participants understand and master the core competencies of material handling and its relevance in the entire supply chain/logistics function.
