A systems approach to managing activities associated with traffic, transportation, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling. This is course one of a foundation two-level track that will help our participants understand and master the core competencies of material handling and its relevance in the entire supply chain/logistics function. This course is designed specifically for adults 18+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students explore office procedures including appointment scheduling, records creation and maintenance, interpersonal communications, bookkeeping tasks, coding, billing, collecting, third party reimbursement, credit arrangements, and computer use in the office. Discuss the impact of mood altering substances and behaviors and therapeutic alternatives as they relate to the family from a multicultural and transgenerational perspective.
