Fashion Illustration Media provides students with skill development in fashion technical drawing with emphasis on fashion details and applications. This class provides instruction in illustrating a wide variety of clothing in various media with an emphasis on computer-aided techniques. The class will accommodate all levels of skill from beginner to advance illustrators to help them achieve a professional level of fashion technical drawing for their portfolio. Combined with credit FSHD-1346.
Whether you like to arrange flowers at home, or are interested in becoming a professional floral designer, this course will give you an introduction to the art of Floral Design. Students will learn tools, mechanics, elements, and principles of design, as well as cut flower identification, care, and handling. Students will make basic floral arrangements, which they will be able to take home.
Interns are advised, appraised, and mentored throughout the spring semester. Fee covers the costs of mentor and supervisor support for spring clinical teacher. Internship (cont.)-Support, Professional Development/ Conference 25 hrs. Full Spring Semester
Examination of the various stages of the group work treatment process with emphasis on roles, tasks, and potential problem areas. Topics include mechanics of group function, structure of groups, communication patterns within groups, effective group facilitation skills, and techniques used to address special population issues and needs. This course introduces two important accents used for stage, film, television, and video games. In the Fall the offering is American Southern and Australian. Through Knight-Thompson Speechwork, a new standard-bearing approach to speech, students will acquire the skills to convincingly perform these accents. Areas of focus include developing the oral posture, learning how to create the unique pronunciations, and analyzing the “music” (rhythm, tempo, and intonation) of the accent. Studies include native speakers of these accents, and dialogue from stage and screen scripts will be utilized to apply the work. This course is for actors with and without speech training and for people who simply would enjoy learning two interesting accents.
The use of specialized software and use of adaptive hardware is included in this class. Vocational technology use includes keyboard use, data entry, and transcription accuracy. System and application software skills appropriate for each student are selected during the admissions interview. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
