Continue the development of jewelry fabrication skills to include precision layout, sawing, and filing; complex assembly tasks; and finishing to professional standards. Prerequisite: JLRY-1001. Combined with credit JLRY-1402.
Whether you like to arrange flowers at home, or are interested in becoming a professional floral designer, this course will give you an introduction to the art of Floral Design. Students will learn tools, mechanics, elements, and principles of design, as well as cut flower identification, care, and handling. Students will make basic floral arrangements, which they will be able to take home.
Introduction to the manual graphic techniques of Landscape Design. This is a hand drafting course. Drafting techniques and freehand sketching will be covered including plan, elevation/section, perspective drawing, scale, landscape symbols, and rendering techniques.
This introductory course in improvisation will investigate spontaneous problem solving as a means of generating movement for dance composition. Students will be called upon to explore and respond to various forms of stimuli in a safe and supportive learning environment within solo and group work. Integrated with credit DANC-1201. Continuation and progression from beginning tennis. Students with mastery of fundamental strokes will learn through play and instruction in the more advanced strategies and skills. Learn the fundamentals of computer networking in terms you can easily understand; learn why networks have become so important, how software and hardware makes networking possible, and how networks function.
Instruction in determining financial needs and owner needs for financial assistance. Identify sources of funds and debt financing; and explain the borrowing process. This course will present different options for funding a small business. Options reviewed will include SBA loans, venture capital, angel funds and others. The course will also review requirements for owner's investment.
