The ACC bootcamp covers Full stack Javascript Software, Git, and many more technologies.
In order to get prepared for the Bootcamp, ACC is offering a Bootcamp Prep Course. In this prep course, you will work on essential computer and math skills. This 2 week long course will help navigate the rigor of the Bootcamp.
Bootcamp Prep Course includes:
-Familiarity with web technologies: HTML
-Simple programming concepts using online gaming environments like MIT Scratch
-Use of computer tools including: Linux Command Line, Git/Github, Visual Studio Code
-Familiarity with your computer's operating system, including Windows 10, Windows Subsystem Linux and Mac OSX
-Refresh of basic math and logic skills that would help you get ready for a career in technology
Designed for advanced ESOL students, this course emphasizes speaking and listening to formal American English used in college and work settings. There will be continued practice on academic listening and note-taking skills as well as exposure to real-life formal talks and college lectures. Class activities include leading and participating in group discussions, listening to lectures and taking notes, giving presentations and speeches and participating in debates. This course may be repeated for up to 6 hours of credit. Integrated with credit ESOL-0304.
This introductory course in improvisation will investigate spontaneous problem solving as a means of generating movement for dance composition. Students will be called upon to explore and respond to various forms of stimuli in a safe and supportive learning environment within solo and group work. Integrated with credit DANC-1201. Introduction to yoga including traditional yoga postures emphasizing flexibility, breathing and relaxation techniques as well as careful attention to alignment in classical yoga poses. General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of: plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and various factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
