Exploration of theories, techniques, and processes of public relations including means of influencing methods of building good will, analysis of media, obtaining publicity, and implementation of public relations programs.
An introduction to the study of the Spanish language with instruction structured to promote the development of speaking and listening skills for direct application within business and personal settings. Offered within a relaxed and enjoyable environment, and conducted in English and Spanish, the instruction focuses on the development of vocabulary, pronunciation skills, basic sentence patterns, and overview of Latin Culture.
This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in sterile compounding related to pediatric preparations. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: pediatric calculations, pediatric LVP, EEC, and syringe preparations, other neonatal and/or pediatric CSPs. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course " PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. A survey of dances from different cultures, their histories, and their influences on contemporary dance and society. Cultural origins, significance, motivations and techniques will be explored experientially. No previous dance experience necessary. Integrated with credit DANC-1305. Introduction to the study and analysis of literary writing, with focus on writing for children. Topics include studying classic children's books, writing various genres from picture books to chapter books, and understanding the children's book industry.
This class is for students with professional experience and/or previous film acting training. Tony Sears focuses on achieving an honest and vulnerable performance for the camera. The emphasis is on energy and making choices that highlight the actor’s power to tell a story. Students will explore the work through scene study from film and television scripts with some videotaping and playback for evaluation. Suggested prerequisite: Two or more beginning acting classes, Acting Explorations, or other previous acting training/experience. Materials needed: internet connection & audio/video capability with computer or tablet; updated (free) Zoom account.
