This course is designed specifically for adults 18+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students explore office procedures including appointment scheduling, records creation and maintenance, interpersonal communications, bookkeeping tasks, coding, billing, collecting, third party reimbursement, credit arrangements, and computer use in the office. Quality control principles and applications. Describe the benefits and applications of quality control; apply quality control tools and techniques; demonstrate planning and organization of quality control systems; and analyze the cost of poor quality in industry.
This special populations course is designed to provide an overview of the special education process while focusing on various types of learners with special needs, including children with disabilities, gifted learners, and children at risk such as homeless and migrant children. Topics include: legal requirements and laws, topics on public laws relating to individuals with disabilities, categories of exceptionality, identification and intervention, collaboration, identification and assessment of children, inclusion, and planning, delivering, and documenting educational services. The readings and activities are chosen with the intent to prepare you both for the Special Education Supplemental TExES Exam as well as your first year as a special education and/or classroom educator.
Understanding and working with your soil is essential to farming and ranching. Introduction to Soil is a study of the physical properties of soil including structure and texture. Topics include the origin and development of soils, the composition of soil horizon, and the interrelationship between soil fertility and plants. Emphasis will be placed on different methods for soil conservation and soil building practices in sustainable agriculture.
Whether you like to arrange flowers at home, or are interested in becoming a professional floral designer, this course will give you an introduction to the art of Floral Design. Students will learn tools, mechanics, elements, and principles of design, as well as cut flower identification, care, and handling. Students will make basic floral arrangements, which they will be able to take home.
Multimedia for Technical Communications Management
Learn to create audio-visual tutorials for technical products employing the principles of instructional design, user experience, and usability as a foundation to learn and employ audio-video applications like TechSmith, Camtasia and Adobe Captivate. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times if content varies. Combined with credit ETWR-2470. Qualifies for student health insurance.
