Topics include mechanics of group function, structure of groups, communication patterns within groups, effective group facilitation skills, and techniques used to address special population issues and needs. A general survey of dance forms designed to create an appreciation of the vocabulary, techniques and purposes of the creative process. This course includes critical interpretation and evaluations of choreographic works and dance forms within cultural and historical contexts. Wireless networking is a hot topic. Learn how wireless devices make connections, how the connections actually work, and how you can plan, deploy, and connect to wireless networks yourself. Prerequisite: ITNW 5028 Introduction to Networking or equivalent experience.
This course focuses on the critical skills of successfully managing the classroom. Topics covered are the use of data and defining instruction, restorative justice, social and emotional learning, positive behavior intervention, and classroom organization.
An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on work experience. Focuses on aspects of substance abuse prevention from a public health model. Topics include the history of prevention, risk and protective factors among youth, community-based prevention strategies, program design and evaluation, and resources for prevention planning.
