Oracle Database 12c: Introduction to SQL

Course Description

This course prepares Oracle database administrators (DBA) to create SQL statements that retrieve, insert, update and delete data in a database in addition to creating and managing the objects that hold and manipulate data. The instructor-led lesson topics are reinforced with structured hands-on practices. Prepares students for the Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals exam (1Z0-061) which is a requirement of the Oracle Database 12c Administrator Certified Associate and Oracle Database 12c Certified Professional certifications. Note that this course includes content from two Oracle Education courses: Oracle Database SQL Workshop I and Oracle Database SQL Workshop II. Prerequisites: General computer knowledge. Relational database concepts or experience working with data in spreadsheets is helpful.

Meet The Instructor

Richard Soule

Rich Soule is a High Technology Instructor for Austin Community College where he teaches the Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional courses. During the day he's a Vice President at C2 Consulting, an Oracle Partner specializing in custom application development on Oracle and non-Oracle technology. Previously he was the Enterprise Solution Architect for Oracle Platinum Partner RFD & Associates, a local consulting company and Oracle Reseller that's been in Austin for more than 25 years. Rich spent 14 years at Oracle including more than 5 years in the development organization. Rich has been recognized as one of the top 10 presenters at Oracle's Customer Visit Center. He has more than 22 years of Oracle experience and fondly remembers Oracle 6 and character mode Oracle Forms. Rich has 6 different Oracle Certifications including Oracle Database 11g, Oracle Performance Tuning, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Linux, Oracle Data Warehousing, and Oracle Exadata.

Rich is also the owner of Rich Soule Racing, a division of Rich Soule Instructional Industries, where he teaches high performance driving to students on race tracks throughout the United States.
