This course is designed to build math skills for life and work. Students explore business math in a supportive environment. Students will learn basic accounting skills, functional academics as well as retail mathematics. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We will cover basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. And, we will familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of making photographs: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes and subject. We will learn how to make a simple and dynamic photographs. There will be several in class projects and critique to learn from each other. A point-and shoot camera will work, a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results.
Designed to enhance student understanding of the marketing, environment and the dynamic interrelationships of the functions of marketing price, channels of distribution, promotion, and product responsibility. Provides a simulated marketing environment for experience in marketing decision-making and provides practical experiences in analyzing market cases for the students.
This class is a continuation of Guitar I. Topics will include: minor chords, strumming technique and basic music theory. This is a good opportunity to explore the guitar in a friendly, low stress environment. A guitar and pick are required; acoustic or classical guitars preferred but electric guitars are acceptable.
This course focuses on pattern, fabric selection, garment industry technique, pressing skills, time saving technologies and techniques. Projects will be discussed in class. Students must bring sewing machine, tape measure, scissor and pins.
