This course combines a two-day live workshop, along with pre-course reading, and significant online/distance learning (DIL) coursework, and a proctored, written examination, to train pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in TPN sterile compounding procedures. All course activities are designed to be completed within a 12-week semester. The two-day, hands-on workshop is held in our state-of-the-art training facility in Austin, Texas. All other coursework is completed online using our Blackboard Learning Management System. Hands-on training includes: TPN calculations, TPN base solution and additive preparation, use/cleaning/calibration of an automated TPN compounder, etc. The total estimated time required to complete this course is 64 hours (live workshop combined with home-study); may be spread out over a period of from 2-weeks up to one-semester, depending on course section. CPE activity completers will receive a frame-able certificate of completion, ACPE statement of credit, and upload of ACPE credit of 6.4 CEUs (64 hours) into CPE monitor. This is a Practice-Based Activity. Prerequisites: Certified (PTCB) pharmacy technician and/or registered pharmacy technician (technicians practicing in states that do not require certification or registration will be considered on a case-by-case basis); or registered pharmacist or pharmacy intern with ≥ 1 year of pharmacy experience and ≥ 6 months of direct sterile compounding experience. Completion of ASHP/ACPE accredited or ACPE accredited IV certificate comprised of ≥ 40 hours (4.0 CEUs) for technicians or ≥ 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) for pharmacists, of which ≥ 50% of coursework was comprised of direct sterile compounding experience. Preferred: Completion of ACC’s Sterile Compounding and Aseptic Technique (SCAT) course PHRA 1091; ≥ two years of pharmacy experience and ≥ 1 year of direct sterile compounding experience. When submitting your online petition, you must scan and upload your resume or CV, proof of certification or registration, and evidence of IV certificate, to be evaluated as evidence that you meet the prerequisites. Note: This course may be converted to college credit. Integrated with credit PHRA-2373.
Provides general preparation for instructional aides by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Day 1 covers Working Together Successfully; Day 2 covers Learning Styles and Instructional Process; and Day 3 covers Reading, Writing, and Math. Assessments are performance-based and take place throughout the course. Successful participants may earn a Paraeducator Statement of Completion for employment. Sack Lunch requested. STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL THREE DAYS, must meet qualifications, complete class independently, and pass all the requirements. Students who are not "highly qualified" will earn a Professional Development Statement of Completion.
This program, developed by Google, prepares students for an entry-level role in IT support such as in-person or remote help desk work in a small business or at a global company like Google. Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets, the program will introduce you to troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration and security. You will be responsible for working through the online course materials at your own pace. This curriculum maps to CompTIA’s A+ certification exams.

Learn to build interactive web elements using CSS transitions and JavaScript. This class provides hands- on experience triggering, timing, and animating the user interface. You'll learn the basics of CSS transitions and common jQuery functions to build standards-based interactive web interfaces. Suggested prerequisite: ITNW 1059 Introduction to WWW Authoring, HTML, and CSS or equivalent experience.
A short conversational course for intermediate to advanced student, to assist them in conducting conversations in Spanish, as well as understanding articles written in Spanish. This course continues to introduce new advanced grammar topics in order for the student to master conversation skills.
