Register NowEDTX 3055 - Methods of Special Populations
This special populations course is designed to provide an overview of the special education process while focusing on various types of learners with special needs, including children with disabilities, gifted learners, and children at risk such as homeless and migrant children. Topics include: legal requirements and laws, topics on public laws relating to individuals with disabilities, categories of exceptionality, identification and intervention, collaboration, identification and assessment of children, inclusion, and planning, delivering, and documenting educational services. The readings and activities are chosen with the intent to prepare you both for the Special Education EC-12 TExES Exam as well as the first year as a special education and/or classroom educator. Remember that all classrooms contain students with special needs, including gifted and talented, migrant, and homeless children.
