Cynthia J. McKenzie

I am a registered nurse currently working on the Med/Surg. Floor at St. David's Medical Center here in Austin, Texas. I have lived in the Austin area off and on my whole life. I was raised in Kyle, Texas and graduated from Jack C. Hays High School. Attended Texas State University when it was still Southwest Texas State for pre-nursing, Go Bobcats! Married and moved to Wisconsin then Ohio where I finished my nursing degree at Kent State University. I worked at my hometown hospital for 10 years on the Stepdown/ICU unit as staff and charge nurse. Moved back to Texas two years ago and am happy to be back. I have three children and two grandchildren who are a very large part of my life. My teaching experience includes patient education in the classroom and hospital setting as well as instructing orienting nurses in clinical procedures. I am involved in my church community. I decompress by sewing, quilting, crocheting and gardening.
