Continuation of ARAB 1411 / ARAX 4011 with more advanced conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters deeper understanding of Arabic-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Combined with credit ARAB-1412. Introduction to PC Security

Learn why you are at risk and what you can do to protect your personal and business data from the outside world. This course will bring you up to speed on the fundamentals of PC and network security. You will understand and explore the vulnerability of operating systems, software, and networks; you will find out why, where and how viruses, worms, and blended threats are created; you will learn a safe way to handle files and data across the internet through a virtual private network. Suggested prerequisite: A familiarity with general computing terminology, an understanding of any operating system you are using (Mac, Windows, or Linux) and an ability to locate programs and change settings.
An introduction to anatomical systems with emphasis placed on head and neck anatomy. The supporting oral structures, embryology of the teeth, and tooth nomenclature are covered. Topics include the physiology and morphology of the deciduous and the permanent teeth along with basic dental terminology. This is the first course in the Dental Assisting Program. Admission to the Dental Assisting Program is required for registration.
Whether you like to arrange flowers at home, or are interested in becoming a professional floral designer, this course will give you an introduction to the art of Floral Design. Students will learn tools, mechanics, elements, and principles of design, as well as cut flower identification, care, and handling. Students will make basic floral arrangements, which they will be able to take home.....
In this beginning course, students will learn how to create illustrations for ideas. Techniques using pencil, color pencil, markers, watercolor and pen and ink will be explored. Loose gestural techniques and more complex drawings will be developed. Text and image will be balanced. Journaling with images will be practiced and developed for various outcomes. Color use for communicating ideas will be studied.
Fundamentals of pharmacology including recognition, calculation, labeling, packaging, and administration of common veterinary drugs, biologics, and therapeutic agents. Discussion of normal and abnormal responses to these agents. Prerequisite: Prior to registration for this course, applicants are required to complete an online orientation and meet with the program coordinator.
This course is the third in a series presenting translation skills for individuals who are fluent in English and a foreign language. Topics will include guided translation practice in a specialty such as medical, legal, and other technical topics. Prerequisite: Intermediate Translations Skills.
