Austin is the State Capital and self-proclaimed Live Music Capital of the World. Being in the center of Texas, Austin is the best location for short day or overnight excursions within the State. Sporting events, live music, history, an abundance of natural features like Barton Springs, bat tours and green belt hiking trails, and of course mouth watering Texas barbecue, all make for a well-rounded Texas experience. For the adventurous at heart, a short drive gets you the River Walk and the Alamo, shopping at the various outlet malls, NASA, tours at a multitude of Texas wineries and olive oil estates or fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

What Our Program Participants Are Saying

"Brian did a great job planning everything, and when a problem occurred, he quickly found a solution. Therefore, I had a pretty smooth and great trip."

Student, 2019 (Hernginsholm Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier)

"I know much more about the culture differences between Texas and Denmark. I've learned that I don't have to be shy when I’m meeting new people."

Student, 2017 (Hernginsholm Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier)

"Transportation has been great. The same with accommodations. I would maybe say to move the class one hour earlier so that we have the opportunity to go and explore Austin more after school. Overall the experience has been great and I have gained a lot both socially and knowledge wise."

Student, 2018 (Aarhus Business College)

"I've learned a lot about other cultures, but also about how to present correctly. Personally, I've become more open."

Student, 2017 (Hernginsholm Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier)

"It has been a great experience for me. Before the trip, I have a different opinion about USA. I admit that I had a low opinion on the country all based on what I have heard. The trouble with poverty and gun laws. I wasn't really excited to go to a country with so many guns, particularly Texas. After traveling here and really getting to know the United States and Texas, I learned that despite the flaws and the problems there is a real genuine humanity among the American people. It is a bright light to witness and one that deeply marked itself on my heart. The people of the United States have a bright personality, they are friendly, funny and awesome. They have admirable traits and values that makes me understand why they are beloved and proud of their country. I am deeply honored that I got to witness the United States. I am deeply honored that I got to know some very good people."

David (HHX 2014)

"I absolutely loved the trip! It was my first time visiting the US (which has always been a dream for me) and it will definitely not be my last time visiting! I loved the overall culture and people of Texas! I loved the people that I spoke with daily, and I loved the fact that Brian Bilich did such an amazing job organizing everything. He found a gym that we could workout at, he found a bar/restaurant so we could watch the Super Bowl and he was always so nice and chatty. I can't describe my trip in words, but I loved every last minute of it! The only thing that needs to be changed: more business classes."

Daniel (HHX 2014)

"It has helped me to improve my English skills, which is really important, when you study business, and it also helped me to see a different way of teaching and a different school system than we have in Denmark. This will help me in my job, because it is a kind of internship, which can be written in my CV."

Student, 2017 (Hernginsholm Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier)

"It was a great way to experience the American culture, making me want even more to study a semester in America."

Student, 2019 (EUC Nordvest)

"The whole class was really excited about this trip and the trip definitely was beyond my expectation. My picture of the USA hasn't changed in any other direction other than in a positive way and Austin just helped on that picture. Some of the best excursions were the Soup Kitchen and San Antonio Spurs vs Chicago Bulls at the AT&T Center. Our academic courses were pretty different compared to our usual courses in Denmark and the courses at ACC were very good even though it only lasted 2 weeks. I liked the Texas way of living, where everything is bigger and better and Austin had a lot of taste experiences like our visit at Green Mesquite with some tasty BBQ. The courses at ACC were so amazing, because of our teachers and Brian. The teachers were funny and Brian really did a great job making our trip perfect. So I will thank all our teachers and Brian for making this trip memorable and hopefully I will come back to Austin in the future."

Simon (HHX 2014)

"Overall, the program was great. [...] I also liked that many of the activities were outside the classroom - that should definitely be kept."

Student, 2017 (Odense Tekniske Gymnasium)

"I found the trip to be everything I could have hoped for."

Student, 2018 (Aarhus Business College)

"It is overall a super great experience, being both well planned and executed. I wish we could do it all over again!"

Student, 2019 (Aarhus Business College)
