Introduction to the manual graphic techniques of Landscape Design. This is a hand drafting course. Drafting techniques and freehand sketching will be covered including plan, elevation/section, perspective drawing, scale, landscape symbols, and rendering techniques.
Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various holidays, including Valentine's Day and Christmas, and how to modify designs for everyday occasions.
Instruction in terminology, program parameters, display characteristics, formatting features, mathematical functions, and printing. Using Microsoft Excel, create formulas and functions, gain skills to build, manage, save, retrieve, format, and print worksheets and charts. Prerequisites: Familiarity with PC.
Fundamentals of quick sketching to communicate design ideas. Instruction in drawing the male and female fashion figure. Calling all singing actors who move (but-please-don’t-make-me-do-the-dance-audition)! This class will help get both of your left feet moving in the right direction on the foundation of basic steps used frequently in musicals. You will learn to combine the steps into combinations to help you move with fluidity and greater confidence. You’ll be armed with several strategies for memorizing combinations and for coordinating song, character choices, rhythm, and movement. In six weeks you’ll feel ready to take those steps you’ve learned and say “heck yes” to that next dance call.

Program Area: Computer Science & Information Technology
Overview of computer systems' hardware, operating systems, and microcomputer application software, including the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, and databases. Current issues such as the effect of computers on society, and the history and use of computers in business, educational, and other modern settings are also studied. This course provides the required computer literacy core competencies that all students need to attain by graduation.
Introduction to casting models from wax and/or resin using both centrifugal and vacuum processes. Corequisite: JLRY-1001 (can be taken previously or concurrently). Combined with credit JLRY-1409.
