This course will focus on the use of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the creation of a home page. Web browsers, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are discussed. Students get hands-on experience building simple web pages with hypertext links, graphics, and CSS. Includes an overview of techniques that enhance and facilitate page creation. Suggested prerequisites: familiarity with computers and browsing the internet.
Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various holidays, including Valentine's Day and Christmas, and how to modify designs for everyday occasions.
Students learn and apply vocal and acting techniques for the operatic medium. Students should have some skills in reading music and vocal performance. Combined with credit MUSI-1157.
A choral ensemble that is open to any student. Will give several public performances each semester. Repertoire varies according to emphasis. Combined with credit MUEN-1143.
Fee for supervisors and mentors to support interns during their first year of teaching in public schools. Interns are advised, appraised, and mentored throughout the Fall semester. Fall Internship-Support for those hired as 1st year teachers. 30 hrs. Professional Development/Conferences Full Fall Semester.
Taught by a native speaker, students in this class will expand on what they have learned in Conversational Italian II. This course will help students develop better listening to real conversations, practice in speaking, and focus on correct pronunciation. Prerequisite: Conversational Italian II. Application of jewelry-making techniques using precious metals, with an emphasis on assembly and/or multiple setting styles. Includes an introduction to types of welding used in the industry for fabrication and repair such as laser welding and pulse arc welding. Prerequisite: JLRY-1002. Combined with credit JLRY-2435.
