Skills For Transition Program

The Continuing Education division at Austin Community College, in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, is proud to announce an outstanding opportunity for area veterans in transition. The Skills For Transition program is designed to provide training in dozens of high demand careers in Central Texas.

Qualified veterans will receive up to $2000.00 toward the cost of tuition for one of the approved training programs - the only requirement being that service members must be within 180 days of their discharge date (before or after).

Steps For Enrollment

Follow the steps below to guide you through the enrollment process.

Pre-Discharge (within 180 days of discharge date)

+ Visit your military installation office for assessment and career pathway selection
+ Determine the county to which you are transitioning
+ Receive a voucher for approved CE classes
+ Use your voucher to register for an approved CE program

Post-Discharge (within 180 days of discharge date)

+ Determine the county to which you are transitioning
+ Visit your Workforce Solutions office for assessment and career pathway selection
+ Receive a voucher for approved CE classes
+ Use your voucher to register for an approved CE program
