The Mobility & Infrastructure Construction Core program equips you with the essential knowledge and skills required to enter Austin's booming infrastructure development and construction industry, where exciting career opportunities are waiting for skilled individuals like you. Get hands-on training and build a pathway to a rewarding apprenticeship and / or in-demand career right here in Austin!

About the Program

The Mobility & Infrastructure Construction Core program is designed to help you quickly develop the skills and practical experience you need to enter this high-growth field and it consists of the following four (4) courses:

  • EMSP-1026: Heartsaver CPR
    Students learn critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

  • OSHT-1015: OSHA 10 Safety and Accident Prevention
    Students will learn safety protocols appropriate to a variety of construction/job sites, including both general OSHA safety guidelines and industry-specific protocols.

  • CNBT-1001: Construction Core Overview
    Students will learn career development and professional skills to help them pursue a career in the construction industry, including appropriate technology use, leadership / mentorship / management, issues related to organized labor pathways, workplace communication, advocacy, employee rights and responsibilities, and careers beyond an entry-level role.

  • CNBT-1011: Construction Core Practical Applications
    Students will demonstrate the ability to measure and assess a worksite, including an understanding of blueprints / site drawings, math and measurement, and an understanding of common tools, equipment, and supplies.

  • CPR Heartsaver Certification
  • OHSA-10 Certification
  • ACC Occupational Skills Award
