ACC Continuing Education

The HVAC program in Continuing Education at ACC has been specially designed to deliver the skills you need in a short period of time so you can enter this high growth occupation quickly. Our hands-on program includes the following courses. The courses must be taken in the order listed below. This program is 216 total hours. Basic Electricity for HVAC - Principles of electricity as required by HVAC, including proper use of test equipment, electrical circuits, and component theory and operation. Refrigeration Principles - This is an introductory course to the HVAC industry. The course will give an introduction to the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety. EPA Recovery Certification Preparation - This certification training class focuses on recovery, recycle, and reclaim of HVAC refrigerant. Introduction to the Construction Industry Covering construction industry basics, students will study topics including OSHA 10 training requirements, construction math, hand and power tools, materials handling and construction drawings.

This is an introductory course to the HVAC industry. The course will give an introduction to the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety.
