Course Description
The HVAC program in Continuing Education at ACC has been specially designed to deliver the skills you need in a short period of time so you can enter this high growth occupation quickly. Our hands-on program includes the following courses. The courses must be taken in the order listed below. This program is 180 total hours. 1) Basic Electricity for HVAC - Principles of electricity as required by HVAC, including proper use of test equipment, electrical circuits, and component theory and operation. 2) Refrigeration Principles - This is an introductory course to the HVAC industry. The course will give an introduction to the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer theory, temperature/pressure relationship, refrigerant handling, refrigeration components, and safety. 3) EPA Recovery Certification Preparation - This certification training class focuses on recovery, recycle, and reclaim of HVAC refrigerant.
