Course Description
The What and The How. The What: How does a camera work The basic camera operation and controls: shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc. and familiarize ourselves with the technical and aesthetic process of making photographs. Which includes: composition, context, obvious and subtle themes, and subject. The How: How to make simple and dynamic photographs with five in-class projects and critiques to learn from each other. A point-and-shoot camera will work, but a camera with manual controls will give the best opportunity for learning how to get the desired results. The student must complete four out of the five projects, and all students are required to attend the first class to earn the certificate.
