Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
This introductory course in improvisation will investigate spontaneous problem solving as a means of generating movement for dance composition. Students will be called upon to explore and respond to various forms of stimuli in a safe and supportive learning environment within solo and group work. Integrated with credit DANC-1201. Understanding and working with your soil is essential to farming and ranching. Introduction to Soil is a study of the physical properties of soil including structure and texture. Topics include the origin and development of soils, the composition of soil horizon, and the interrelationship between soil fertility and plants. Emphasis will be placed on different methods for soil conservation and soil building practices in sustainable agriculture.
Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various special occasions, including birthdays, Homecoming, new baby, and more. Designs learned can be modified for everyday occasions. Students will also have the opportunity to learn other design styles including Contemporary, Ikebana, European and Tropical. Floral Design Principles is recommended but not required as a prerequisite....*
Study of fundamentals of French: conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters understanding of French-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Integrated with credit FREN-1411.

Learn the fundamentals of computer networking in terms you can easily understand; learn why networks have become so important, how software and hardware makes networking possible, and how networks function.
Preparation for entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. Topics include resident's rights, communication, safety, observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis on effective interaction with members of the health care team. Must register for and complete NURA 1060 prior to applying to take registry exam.
