Heartsaver (CPR, FA, AED)

Course Description
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use. This course satisfies OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.151
Writing with AI (Artificial Intelligence)
Course Description
This course will introduce students to writing with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Course topics will include instructional and generative AI, problem-solving processes, ethical considerations, and project management. Combined with credit ETWR-1371.
Botanical Painting in Watercolor, Gouache, and Ink

Course Description
This course explores watercolor, gouache, and ink through the study of Texas botanicals and native wildflowers. Students will develop foundational drawing and painting skills while learning to observe and interpret the natural world with intention and creativity. Emphasis is placed on color theory, brush control, layering, and the integration of ink linework.
Through in-studio exercises and observational studies, students will explore both representational and expressive approaches to botanical art. The course encourages experimentation, personal style development, and an understanding of how watercolor and gouache can be combined to create depth and vibrancy. Prior experience is helpful but not required.
Reading and Vocabulary 4

Course Description
This is a course to not only improve reading proficiency but also increase the appreciation of reading. It teaches language through reading and vocabulary. It is for students who need either to improve or review basic reading and vocabulary skills in English. Word attack skills, phonics, and syllabication are some of the skills that are introduced during the course. In addition, students will distinguish between topics, main ideas, supporting details and develop critical thinking skills in analyses of academic and literary works. Integrated with credit ESOL-0314.
General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture

Course Description
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and a range of factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2019 (Self-Guided)

This online, self-paced course will introduce you to Microsoft Excel 2019 and teach you basic Excel skills. Learn how to create a spreadsheet using several time-saving functions, how to work with numbers, names, dates, or other important data, how to use macros and buttons, and how to sort and analyze your data. By course completion, you will know how to best organize large sets of data into a spreadsheet with this powerful business productivity tool.
