A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. As outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry; and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.
Learn the techniques for entering the international marketplace. Emphasis on the impact and dynamics of sociocultural, demographic, economic,
technological, and political-legal factors in the foreign trade environment. Topics include patterns of world trade, internationalization of the firm, and operating procedures of the multinational enterprise. Required textbook is available at RGC bookstore (512) 474-2607. This class will cover all four language skills (reading, writing, grammar, and oral communication) with a focus on the fundamental grammar structures that will help students succeed in academic English classes. After successful completion of this course, participants should be able to join Oral Communication I through ESOL.
In this course, students will review basic verb tenses, proceed to intermediate structures, emphasizing communicative use in academic and non-academic contests. Students will also complete lab projects enforcing these forms and concepts. Integrated with credit ESOL-0397.

Continuation of FREX-3011 with more advanced conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters deeper understanding of French-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Integrated with credit FREN-1412.
General Botany for Landscape Design & Horticulture
An introduction to basic botany as it directly relates to horticulture and landscaping. This course will cover the fundamentals of plant biology, plant growth, plant development, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, respiration/transpiration, and a range of factors that can affect plant development in a cultivated environment.
*This class is taught asynchronously, which means there are no set meeting times and the students are able to complete the lessons and activities at their own pace through Blackboard. However, live sessions will be held as needed. The information will be posted to Blackboard Announcements.
