Auditioning is an essential (and occasionally dreaded) skill that each actor must master. In this class, we will find the FUN in entering a casting room, reframing auditioning into an opportunity to do the thing we love. This class will increase confidence and hone dynamic monologue techniques for stage auditions. Recorded auditions for theatre will be covered briefly. (To focus on film & TV, register for Self-Taping Your Auditions). Skills covered include character study, choosing clear and high-stakes objectives, entrances/exits, and who to be fully present in the room. Register early! Once the class makes students will receive guidance on finding monologues. Students will bring a 1-minute to 90-second monologue of their choice to the first meeting.
A short conversational course for intermediate to advanced student, to assist them in conducting conversations in Spanish, as well as understanding articles written in Spanish. This course includes reviews of basic grammar to expand on more advanced concepts and introduces new advanced grammar topics.
Instruction in the identification and use of native plant species of the Edwards Plateau and Llano Uplift. Basic plant knowledge is helpful, but not required. Much of the class will take place on field study trips for plant identification purposes.
This course is designed to build math skills for life and work. Students explore business math in a supportive environment. Students will learn basic accounting skills, functional academics as well as retail mathematics. This course is geared toward supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Want to set up a jewelry business or learn innovative ideas Start with this course to build your knowledge from the beginning. You will receive one-on-one time to learn pricing, websites, selling, photography, online sales, and a new jewelry technique each night. This will include mold making, resins, epoxy clays, using photos in jewelry, making bead caps, combining techniques and much more! You will have new pieces to wear each class. Supplies galore will be available so you can express your own style. Wear clothes for creating + bring a snack + your readers. Plan on meeting new friends. All supplies, a free book & materials provided by the instructor. Take both versions of the class to double your skills.
In this introductory course, students will learn the fundamentals of using acrylic paint to produce various styles. Students will begin with monochromatic color schemes and progress to full color. Color mixing and various thicknesses of paint will be explored from thin washes to thick impasto techniques. A focus on composition, manipulation of space and capturing the likeness of objects will be studied. Students will become familiar with the materials and experiment with the flexibility of acrylic paint that can represent detailed traditional paintings as well as expressive, calligraphic, and translucent compositions.
Revit Architecture is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way Architects think. From Preliminary Design through Design Development and into Construction Documents, the program streamlines the design process with a central 3D model. Changes made in one view update across all views and on the printable sheets. Since building projects themselves tend to be extremely complex, Revit Architecture necessarily a complex program. The objective of the Revit Architecture 2011 Fundamentals course is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. You begin by learning about the user interface and the Revit commands for design development followed by those available for construction documentation. Duration: 32 hours. Prerequisites:
