Programming Fundamentals I: Apple Swift I

Introduces the fundamental concepts of structured programming and provides a comprehensive introduction to programming for computer science and technology majors. Topics include software development methodology, data types, control structures, functions, arrays, and the mechanics of running, testing, and debugging. This course assumes computer literacy. This course is included in the Field of Study Curriculum for Computer Science.
Instruction for all levels of skill in the fundamentals of basketball. Emphasis upon the development and improvement of total fitness, skill and general knowledge about basketball for leisure time use. Legal aspect of small business start-ups. A study of choosing the right attorney, organizing the business structure, and creating the right entity to match the intended business goal, naming the business, contracting (includes commercial transactions, sale/purchase/employment agreements, and leases), learning about employees versus independent contractors, obtaining permits, and paying taxes. Includes implications of the Texas Deceptive Practices Act to small business as well as ADA and federal employment laws.
Continuation of ARAB 1411 / ARAX 4011 with more advanced conversation, basic writing, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, and culture. This course fosters deeper understanding of Arabic-speaking people through cultural comparison and development of written and spoken communication. Combined with credit ARAB-1412. Describes the architecture, components, operations, and security to scale for large, complex networks, including wide area network (WAN) technologies. Emphasizes network security concepts and introduces network virtualization and automation. This course covers quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access. It also introduces software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks. Suggested prerequisite: Introduction to Networks and Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials courses or an equivalent level of knowledge.
Cross-cultural comparisons of management and communications processes. Emphasizes cultural geographic distinctions and antecedents that affect individual, group, and organizational behavior. May include sociocultural demographics, economics, technology, political-legal issues, negotiations, and processes of decision making in the international cultural environment. Integrated with college credit IBUS 2341.
